An interview with Founder, Andrew Dobbie from behind the scenes of our first photo shoot.
MadeBrave® Originals is a lifestyle brand for the bold – born from the rewards of taking risks. Three years ago, Andrew Dobbie, a Photographer and Graphic designer by trade, left his job with a newborn baby at home and £1000 in the bank to start MadeBrave®, a full service digital creative agency in Glasgow. Here, he tells the story of how MadeBrave® Originals came to be.
Why did you decide to launch MadeBrave® Originals?
The agency grew pretty quick and we realised we had created a really great culture, and started to attract a load of followers online. We wanted to give them a part of MadeBrave®, so that’s why we decided to create MadeBrave® Originals.
Where did the idea come from?
As an agency, we were giving away branded Moleskines and KeepCups, and we found that they were really popular – our online followers were asking where they could buy them, so it just felt really natural to build an online store and create a brand from that – which has developed to become MadeBrave® Originals.
What’s the inspiration behind ‘Born Original. Made Brave’?
‘Born Original. Made Brave’ as a strapline, came from the fact that, when you’re born, you’re born with a clean slate and have the opportunity to become anything you want in life if you have the right opportunities, work hard and take the right risks. We want to inspire people that anything is possible if you have the right attitude and work hard.
What’s the future of MadeBrave® Originals?
The future of MadeBrave® Originals is really exciting, we’ve got planned collaborations with different athletes and artists, we’re already looking to expand the range, and we’ve got loads of really exciting things in the pipeline.
